If you are like most golfers, you have purchased hundreds of dollars of golf training equipment. How many gimmicky training aids do you have lying around?

Now I want you to picture something.

Put all the training aids together in your mind and picture using them all at the same time. What do you think would be the results?

I don’t think it would be pretty and that’s my point.

It’s so easy to look for the ‘magic bullet’. But the magic bullet is staring you in the face. You heard that right, it’s YOU!

You swing the club and play the game…so why wouldn’t you spend the time and money on improving YOU?

So stop buying the latest greatest training aid and focus on improving your own physical limitations.

So let’s get back to golf training equipment.

I’d like to make a couple of suggestions.

I’m all for swinging a weighted club. You couldn’t get more golf-specific than that. That would be a purchase that will give you a high return.

Next on the list would be exercise tubing. It only costs approximately $20-$25 and would be another very wise investment.

The beauty of tubing is the ability to break down the golf swing into as many phases as you like and do resistance (tubing) training specific to that phase.

The next piece of golf training equipment is the stability ball. Any golfer with a bad back should have one.

You can do so many stretches on it, and you can have this in your office, home or even when you travel since it’s deflatable.

And lastly, hand weights. Another term is dumbbells. You can do dozens of golf-specific exercises with a simple pair of dumbbells. The cost is 50 cents a pound and they are very portable.

Other than the above golf training equipment, you could get one, maybe two trainings aids specific to your swing fault.

For example, if you’re a slicer, the Inside Approach is a great device to use right on the range.

But dump all the old, ineffective training aids you have in your garage and focus on what will give you the greatest return on investment (both time and money).

And remember; if you are doing something that’s not working…stop! Move onto something new and different. Don’t get in a rut. Catch yourself before this happens.

If you are involved with a non-profit organization, chances are you have been approached by people who specialize in hosting charity golf tournaments. Charity golf tournaments are extremely popular ways for people to raise money. Usually, the way these events are set up, people pay a fee to be involved in a two or three-day event, sometimes a one-day event only. The players get to play alongside local celebrities and there are prizes that can be won to sweeten the deal.

An example of a charity golf prize is a hole-in-one prize. The tournament organizer will choose a hole with a par-3 and offer, say, a new car to the person who hits a hole in one. There is no risk involved to the charity if they purchase what is known as “hole-in-one insurance,” a comparatively small premium that ensures the winner will get the prize and the charity will not have to purchase the prize. This eliminates the need to get sponsorships for everything from the community.

Another event you can have at a charity golf event is called a “million dollar shootout.” This kind of event can be done in conjunction with a regular charity golf tournament. The players who wish to participate pay an extra fee in order to attempt the million dollar shot at a temporary hole. The tournament organizer will have purchased “million dollar coverage” from an insurance company for a guaranteed payout. Your charity golf event will be a huge success if you maximize the earning potential of your tournament!

As a MLB baseball fan and sports bettor, you probably know that one key element in any baseball game is the pitching. A solid pitcher can completely shutdown an opposing side. What happens when you have two very good pitchers going at it? Usually the game is low scoringno matter how good the hitters are. Just the opposite can happen when to sub-par pitchers take the mound. Knowing how to properly evaluate pitching is key to winning your baseball bets. However, evaluating can be a complicated task. Just what should we pay attention to? That’s the purpose of this article. We will discus what’s important to look at and use the past performance of real pitchers to illustrate these points. It’s time to play ball.

ERA

The most common mistake for those wagering on MLB baseball has to be simply looking at the pitcher’s ERA. The ERA is important, but you have to dig a little deeper to get the full story. Let’s take a look at Chicago White Sox pitcher Freddy Garcia. Let’s imagine that it’s late in the season and he’s on the mound with his 3.87 ERA. It would be easy to look at that and decide that he’s a good pitcher. However, looking at his stats deeper tells a tale of two pitchershome and away. Let’s compare.

1.At home, Garcia has a 4-5 record. On the road he is 10-3.
2.At home, his ERA is 4.38. On the road his ERA is 3.40.
3.At home he gave up 17 home runs 38 walks. On the road he gave up 9 home runs and 22 walks.
4.He pitched 10 more innings on the road.

So what does this data tell you? For one, it tells you that Freddy Garcia is not a good pitcher at home. By looking deeper into the ERA and where the game is being played, you can get a better picture of just who’s taking the mound for a game.

Team Performance

Another area you want to look at is team performance, which looks at how well the pitcher has performed against the team. While you can look at history, it’s best to look at the current season and only pull in history if there are no current season performances. The reason is simple; teams change, at least a little, each year. Let’s keep looking at Freddy Garcia to see why team performance is so important. Take a look at a couple teams Garcia pitched against in 2005 and the outcome.

1.Garcia pitched four games against Detroit and had a 2.61 ERA.
2.Garcia pitched four games against Cleveland and had a 2.63 ERA.
3.Garcia pitched three games against Seattle and had an 8.35 ERA.
4.Garcia pitched two games against Oakland and had a 3.46 ERA.

By looking at team performance, we can see that Garcia’s outcome fluctuated and there are certain teams that he just does not do well against and others he dominates. We just looked at ERA here, but you can drill down further and look at overall pitching performance such as: hits, walks, home runs, innings pitched and so forth.

Inning Count

The last area of our discussion involves inning count. It’s vital that you know how deep, on average, the pitcher goes into games. If the pitcher is known for 5-6 inning outings, then you know the bullpen will be a major factor in the game. If this is the case and the team’s bullpen is suspect, you have to devalue the starting pitcher some. If you have a pitcher that normally works 7-8 innings and the team has a dominant closer and possibly a very good setup man, then you can focus more on the starting pitcher. Here’s an example list of pitchers and their 2005 averages.

1.Freddy Garcia 7 innings.
2.Randy Johnson 6 2/3 innings.
3.Pedro Martinez 7 innings.
4.Jose Contrares 6 13/ innings.
5.Livian Hernandez 7 innings.

In the case of Randy Johnson and Jose Contrares, we would have to discount their ability slightly if their team’s bullpen was not solid. Getting 7 innings of work out of a starting pitcher is good and about the average.

So the next time you go to bet baseball, look at who is pitching and do a little evaluating. It will pay off in the end.

It is a looking glass for human hope, excellence and positive social change. It is, in short, a microcosm of the human existence, with all of its exuberance, tragedy and triumph.

The excitement and tradition of “March Madness” as we know it today has been shaped by many significant events in NCAA tournament history: The first NCAA men’s basketball tournament was held in 1939 with the first championship game held at Northwestern on March 27, 1939. Only eight teams competed in two regions. Oregon defeated Ohio State in the championship, and the West region held a third-place game.

Although the NCAA tournament now determines the national champion, that was not always the case. Until the 1950’s, the NIT was considered a more prestigious tournament than the NCAA, and teams often chose to enter the NIT and bypass the NCAA tourney. Because of this dichotomy, two of the best centers of the 1940’s never met in an NCAA tourney. George Mikan’s DePaul team traditionally entered the NIT, while Bob Kurland’s Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State) won two NCAA titles. Several schools entered both tournaments. One such team, City College of New York (CCNY) led by Irwin Dambrot, won both in 1950. Ironically, CCNY defeated Bradley University in the finals of both tournaments. Another school, Utah in 1944, entered the NIT, lost in the first round, and then went on to win the NCAA title. Kentucky pulled off a similar accomplishment in 1949, losing in the second round of the NIT and then going on to win the NCAA Tournament.

In 1941, the East region added a third-place game into the schedule, and in 1946, a national third-place game was held for the first time; the game would be a fixture until 1980. In 1951, the tournament expanded to 16 teams, and in 1952, Seattle was the site of the first true “Final Four,” with both semifinal games and the championship game in one city. It was 1956 when the tournament was divided into four regions. Some of the most astounding and telling events in college basketball were to follow: North Carolina defeated Wilt Chamberlain and Kansas 54-53 in three overtimes to win the title in 1957. The legend of dominance emerged in 1962 when John Wooden’s UCLA team makes the first of 13 Final Four appearances over the next 15 seasons.

Reflecting the race and civil rights issues of the time, Loyola (Illinois) was matched up with Mississippi State in a 1963 men’s basketball tournament regional semifinal. Mississippi State, an all-white team, fled the town in the middle of the night despite protests from the governor and state police of Mississippi to play a Loyola team that features four black starters. Mississippi State overcame an unwritten Mississippi rule against playing integrated teams with a cloak-and-dagger flight to the North just one step ahead of a court injunction. Triumphantly, Loyola beat Mississippi State and went on to win the title. In 1966, Texas Western (now UTEP), with an all-black starting five, defeats an all-white Kentucky team to win the national title.

In 1973, with the championship game held on Monday night for the first time, UCLA behind Bill Walton’s 44 points on 21 of 22 shooting, won its seventh straight championship, defeating Memphis State. NC State, led by David Thompson, ends UCLA’s title run in 1974, defeating the Bruins in the national semifinals in double overtime.

The following year, the NCAA tournament expanded to 32 teams, and then allowed more than one school from each conference to participate. Prior to this ruling, the restriction prevented several great teams from competing in the tournament, including the 1974 Maryland team. They finished the season nationally ranked #4, yet lost the ACC Conference final game to top-ranked NC State prior to the start of the tournament. After that, the NCAA began to allow more than one team per conference to participate. In 1976, Bobby Knight’s Indiana Hoosier squad completed an undefeated season with a victory over Michigan in the championship game. The Hoosiers are the last team to go undefeated and win the title.

The tournament expanded to 40 teams in 1979, and teams were seeded for the first time. “Magic” Earvin Johnson leads Michigan State over Larry Bird and Indiana State to win the national championship. The game drew the attention of millions throughout the country; its 24.1 TV rating remains the highest ever for a college basketball game and is still considered one of the greatest match-ups in NCAA Tournament history.

Expansion followed in 1980 to 48 teams, and then in 1983, to 53 teams. In what many believe is the greatest Cinderella story in college basketball, North Carolina State’s Lorenzo Charles dunks the ball as time expires in the 1983 championship game to lead the Wolfpack to a 54-52 win over heavily favored Akeem Olajuwon and Houston. Perhaps no one figure in college basketball history more personified the spirit of March Madness than Coach Jim Valvano. His underdog North Carolina State Wolfpack did what many consider a miracle by making an incredible run through the 1983 Tournament. Culminating in the defeat of the highly touted “Phi Slamma Jamma” squad from the University of Houston, Valvano was rocketed into the media limelight and quickly became the symbol of exuberance and enthusiasm. He discovered soon afterward that he had bone cancer, and for a short time became a commentator for college basketball. Before his death at age 47, he was named the recipient of the Arthur Ashe award for courage at the first ESPN ESPY awards. It was at this time he announced the formation of the V Foundation for cancer research.

In 1985 the tournament expanded to 64 teams. A Villanova Wildcat team shot a 22 for 28 field goal percentage to defeat Patrick Ewing and defending champion Georgetown in the championship game. Villanova remains the lowest seed (#8) to win the championship. In 1991, Duke upset undefeated UNLV in the semifinals and went on to win the national championship. In 1997, Arizona, led by Mike Bibby, Jason Terry and Miles Simon, becomes the first school to defeat three #1 seeds en route to the national championship, winning against Kansas, North Carolina and Kentucky.

The NCAA Tournament’s popularity has grown to rival that of the World Series, the Olympics and the Super Bowl. CBS Sports in 1999 negotiated an 11-year, $6 billion agreement for television, radio, Internet, corporate marketing, licensing, publishing, home video and Hoop City rights for the Division I men’s basketball championship.

In 2002, the NCAA tournament committee developed a “pod” system for the first and second rounds. The system allows the top four seeds to play at a site as close to home as possible, without regard to the school’s tournament region. In that year’s tournament, Maryland became the first school to defeat five former national champions on their way to win their first title. In 2004, the regions became known by the regional final’s host city instead of by their geographic names. The Final Four match-ups were set by committee prior to the tournament instead of on a rotating basis. Connecticut, behind center Emeka Okafor, won its second title in six seasons. Last year, 2005, Roy William’s North Carolina Tar Heels led by Sean May, held off the Fighting Illini to win the title game by a final score of 75-70.
a
Adversity, tragedy, and ultimate triumph; the downtrodden and beleaguered emerge through the journey as champions. The drama of hope intensified to euphoria, only to be dashed on the rocks of defeat in the ultimate test of poise and determination. The human experience in all its excellence and all its failures. Yes, this Tournament has it all.

Our world is in a period of great change. We are experiencing global warming at a rate never seen before. The change is in redirecting our energy sources that will hopefully reverse this trend. Our fossil fuel supplies are slowly being depleted and likewise gradually being augmented with pollution free energy sources that do not need replacement.

The technologies involved in renewable energy resources have advanced greatly in recent
years and have now become part of individual nation energy policies.

Adoption and greater use of wind turbines has been much more prominent in recent
years with the great advances in Wind turbine technology. Photovoltaics is also making
great strides in their Solar Panel conversion efficiencies. Solar Thermal direct electricity
generation seems to hold the greatest promise for the present. Combining these pollution
free energy sources, it is hoped to make a big dent in our fossil fuel environmental
pollution issues in the near future.

Even Now… We Are Beginning To See Some Of The Effects Of These Changes

========================================================================

With manufacturing efficiencies rising in most sectors of our industry, energy
costs are also rising, negating much of these gains, producing net gain adjustments in the
final costs of producing a product. As our fossil fuels become less and less available,
renewable energy sources will have to increase in order to replace them along with our
increased needs. We are seeing greater investments in renewable energy projects as we
enter 2006, mainly because of the Renewable Energy tax incentives passed in late 2005.

The transition to these new energy sources is not without some reactions…from those who
live within ear shot of a windmill farm. Their “whirring” noise can sometimes be somewhat
annoying. Some “avian”(bird) losses are attributed to their encounters with the rotating
blades. Windmill farms require massive landscaped areas in their construction. Some land
value is also lost…usually permanently in the process. Even some of our most prominent
elected officials have voiced opposition to proposed Windmill Farms along our eastern
seaboard shores because they would obscure some of our beautiful scenic views. It seems the
only way to rebuke the naysayers and to convince them of the advantages of using Windmill
Renewable energy…is for one to respond…”maybe when you turn away from the less than
beautiful scenery produced by the offshore Windfarm, your lights will still be on as you
enter your home.”

There will always be some who oppose change, but it is not as though the U.S. and the
rest of the world has a choice in the matter. The prime reason is not because Fossil Fuel
sources will run out tomorrow, but because…as they become less available because of
dwindling reserves or supplier disruption(for whatever reason), market prices will rise,
causing a ripple effect and promote a negative industry growth.

I am a longtime searcher of possible solutions to the problems
    of the day.

    Mar 22

You could perhaps be awed at the number of people that encounter monetary issues in their lifetime. As a result, unpaid commitments will likely be encountered. An individual sometimes can confront these difficulties because of work loss, change in marital relationship, sudden passing of a family or just poor individual cash supervision. Businesses typically encounter misfortune within the first couple years of business. To blame for a venture shutting down can span from more competition, mistakes, loss of large accounts to identify some. Whatever the basis, bad debt may lead to bankruptcy. Still, there are alternatives to bankruptcy that can mitigate damage to your personal credit report or your business credit.

Bankruptcy is definable as the inability of a partnership or an individual to satisfy the financial obligations owed to credit givers. If or when a corporation files, the defaulter (the business or yourself) is bound to relinquish all nonexempt assets and property for sale. While personal items are kept, you have to also pledge a particular portion of your earned pay to the creditors based on an agreed upon repayment program. Your credit bureau scores will be low for ages, meaning that you won’t be capable of incurring funding for whatever personal or commercial endeavor for a long time.

The tension and headaches stimulated by these undischarged financial responsibilities can be weighty, to say the least, particularly when a consideration of filing bankruptcy sneaks into your head. In these positions, it remains important to realize that you possess choices. It is critical to search out the alternatives, such as a fiscal consultant who will create a debt liquidation plan for you.

Perhaps you will be asking, “How come my creditors are are inclined to allow debt negotiation?” The truth is that almost any alternate is advantageous to the creditor when comparing to bankruptcy. Bankruptcy alternatives are worthwhile to not only you but to your lender as well. The financial institute will be able to recoup at least a share of the moneys that the lenders are owed and you’re capable to deal with. Allowing a debt liquidation program that is much less than the beginning amount you initially owed is far better than nothing at all.

Debt resolution is a great alternative for those searching for assistance with credit card debt. When just a single, solitary payment is forgotten about, virtually all lines of credit incur an exceedingly hefty rate increase that has an impact heavily on the present balance due. This rate hike makes it increasingly difficult to pay off the account balance in the following months which will most likely send your debt spinning out of reach. Debt resolution will allow for you to pay off your debt with only a fraction of what you owe without ruining your credit rating for ten years.

Click here and inspect this reliable website for division 2 football scholarships recommendations…

It isn’t easy to find a scholarship these days. These scholarships are different from a student loan in that the cash is a grant, and so, do not have to be repaid. As you look for methods to fund your university degree, keep in mind that funds are accessible in unlikely spots, such as left-hander scholarships. Financial Assistance for Left-handers: – It may appear a little strange to offer a grant based on being left-handed, however do consider this: Julius Caesar was left handed, as is President Obama. Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Bob Dylan and J.F. Kennedy were also left handed. Current figures indicate up to 11% of people are lefties. Regrettably in the past lefties have experienced significant discrimination, in modern times they are believed to be more gifted intellectually and more artistic. Discrimination is not an issue any longer and left-handers are no longer believed to be different, as a matter of fact they may even be linked with the many great individuals named previously. Should you be left handed and looking for grants for left-handed students, plenty of left handed grants exist which you may be able to receive. A Frederick and Mary F. Beckley Scholarship for anything up to a thousand dollars is presently available at Juniata College stuated in Huntington, PA. Awarded to scholars going to Juniata College and it was set up in 1979, this unique school fund assists many lefthanded pupils in their pursuit for a college degree.

Numerous scholarships do have prerequisites and limitations. This can be grade requirements or financial needs, but not always. Do go for for as many school scholarships as feasible to give you a greater probabilty of graduating with a negligible amount of debt. Clubs, groups associated with hobbies and community organizations may be a source of college scholarships. Southpaw bursaries are simply an illustration; money is also available if you are a child of a ex-serviceman or are disabled, for example. Searching for school grants may take some time, but the payoff can potentially be enormous. Utilized along with student loans, they are effective in cutting back the student debt which a college degree generates. Be very particular in exploring all available funding. Remember the different options as well as left-handed bursaries – write a list of every alternative you can think of and utilize your imagination. Apply for every last scholarship you may possibly qualify for, keeping your academic costs minimal, and you’ll look forward to better prospects when you finish college.

Guide to Georgia Car Indemnity Insurance Requirements

In the state of GA, all drivers are required to have 25/50/25 car insurance coverage. This signifies that, your Georgia car insurance policy is demanded by law to keep bodily injury coverage of $25,000 per individual, $50,000 per accident and then $25,000 to cover any property damage. Not having insurance coverage can result in heavy fines or you could have your license suspended.

In Georgia, when an accident occurs, someone is always held financially responsible – this is how the law works in a tort system. The faulty driver’s car insurance company will then be held financially at fault for all damages resulting from the accident. Georgia insurance laws do not obligate drivers or motorists to carry personal injury protection coverage, nor do they require the purchase of uninsured/underinsured car insurance coverage. These policies, while not imposed, are not a bad option to add onto your car insurance coverage. There are many people in GA who decide that they want to add PIP and underinsured/uninsured coverage to their insurance coverage. These are just a couple of of the regulations in GA to protect individuals and their vehicles. Regulating these rules, the State of Georgia Dept. of Revenue has a statewide database that insurance underwriters are required to keep current with a driver’s insurance information. drivers are urged to carry proof of insurance coverage at all times. If you are do not have an actual card from your car insurer, you should maintain a duplicate of your policy’s declaration page in your vehicle. You will be asked to present this evidence of car insurance if you are stopped for a traffic violation, involved in an automobile accident or stopped by a police officer.

Being a no-fault state, all car accidents in GA must have an individual determined to be at fault to be at fault and their car insurance underwriter is also accountable for costs.

Personal Injury Protection – This type of extra coverage covers extra medical damages and other expenses that are not covered under a standard policy.

underinsured Coverage – This nonmandatory car insurance covers you in the event you are in a collision with an underinsured motorist. Since the individual doesn’t have an car insurance underwriter to pay for damages, this insurance policy will serve to compensate for them.

To ensure compliance with the law, GA insurance companies are demanded to provide details of your car insurance to a statewide database maintained by the State of Georgia Department of Revenue. It is also advocated to carry proof of car insurance with you anytime you drive. You may be asked for this proof if you are involved in an accident or are stopped by the police.

Joey Porter made pretty strong comments this afternoon about the NFL officials. He says that the referees were trying to steal the game from the Steelers and give the Colts a chance to win.

The argument is pretty legitimate in theory because having the Colts in the Superbowl would make for great ratings. The Colts are a fan favorite. The story of their success this season and the trials and tribulation of Manning’s career is highly publicized.

It is also legitimate in theory because of a flurry of other bad calls that were seemingly in the Colts favor. The non-call of a blatant pass interference against the Colts cost the Steelers an immediate 3 points early in the game. There was also the 4th down of the Steelers where the NFL Officials stopped the play because the entire defensive line jumped. After a meeting, the officials concluded that there was no penalty on the play. For them to halt a play like they did and not call a penalty is ludicrous. If they did not see a Steelers player move then they should have called the penalty against the Colts, hands down. Instead, they acted like fools in pretending there was no flag on the play.

I am upset with these officials because they are stupid. If they were working at McDonalds, Ralphs Grocery store, or at the bank and made such stupid mistakes, we would throw them out of their jobs. In fact, I will go out on a limb to say that they are too stupid for a job at McDonalds.

Swim gear today offers many more options and customizations than at any other point in history. You can even have prescription lens swim goggles that are custom made for not only your prescription but also to fit your face. In addition to thinks such as this, which are highly functional, there are now MP3 players made to stand up to the pressure of underwater use.

As I’ve said before, today’s swim gear is far superior to those that have come before. Even the swim fins on today’s market are highly specialized according the specific needs of individual swimmers. It’s great to know that we live in a society, even world, that has evolved into understanding that one size does not indeed fit all. Swim gear that is made to suit your body’s individual build, structure, and your specific needs according to your level of expertise will give a competitive edge to those with experience and all novices to swim with more confidence than ever before.

Whether you are simply a recreational swimmer, a serious diver, a competitive swimmer, or somewhere in the middle you have probably agonized over whether or not you were buying the right gear for your particular circumstances. Especially if you aren’t exactly sure what to do with the gear you’ve purchased. One rule of thumb is that if you don’t know what you are supposed to do with a piece of equipment it is best not to guess.

My best advice is to purchase all of your swim gear from a reputable dealer with a knowledgeable sales staff. If the staff doesn’t seem interested in educating you about the equipment you are purchasing, I recommend finding another store from which to purchase your equipment. Using some of this equipment without knowledge of how to properly do so can be deadly. Be certain you are getting a complete explanation of the equipment you are buying before you buy it.
